Protecting your hearing
Because hearing well is living well
In the course of a normal day, most of us are exposed to a variety of sounds which over a extended time, could all lead to accumulated hearing loss. This is even more true if you’re regularly attending events with a lot of people, such as sports events or concerts. These events can be in the 90 decibel range or greater.
Tips to protect hearing
Wear earplugs when you go to large events. These can range from affordable foam earplugs you can purchase at the pharmacy, to high-end, frequency-specific, custom-moulded earplugs. Wearing earplugs is especially important if you are often at loud events.
Wear noise-cancelling headphones. It is a normal instinct to want to turn up your earbuds or headphones when the surroundings are loud, but this leads to overamplification, and can lead to hearing loss more quickly.See the Vibe hearing aid family
Hearing protection is a sound investment
I hadn’t really noticed that I had a hearing problem. I just thought most people had given up on speaking clearly. Hearing loss very often is such a gradual phenomenon that the person is in denial. You really have to be patient with them in getting them to come forward to get help.See the Vibe hearing aid family
